Located in northern Peru, this former colonial city is a coastal hotspot filled with desert landscapes and outstanding historical architecture. Chan Chan

With much of the civilization still in the process of being excavated, the areas open for tours are still quite extensive. The Chimu people built incredible mazes, food storage units, spiritual grounds and had unique buildings for every rank of society. Peruvians are excavating and restoring this temple with great care, making this a top site to see alongside Chan Chan. A traditional horse dance is a classy Peruvian rodeo giving visitors a taste of modern culture at Casa Campo ALCOR. Men and women dance alongside horses and during festivals the dances can include hundreds of horses and dancers in unison. Families and friends gather for events to enjoy the music and traditions that keep them close.
